Lun Olive Grove Gardens

Nature has left traces of its generosity in this area, and following them we remain truly amazed. Around 80,000 wild olive trees in an area of 400 hectares have been grafted with cultivated varieties for centuries, primarily the Oblica. The approximately 1,500 wild olive trees, which are 5 to 8 meters high, stand out for their uniqueness.

This area of wild olive trees is the only one of its kind on the Adriatic and has great botanical value, and due to its characteristics, it was declared a botanical reserve in 1963. The oldest olive tree in the Lun Olive Gardens celebrates more than 2,000 years, which places it among the 3 oldest olive trees in the world, along with olive trees from Greece and Israel.

Ancient, gnarled olive trees with silver-green leaves and twisted trunks, planted in rows or naturally scattered throughout the whole park. Their leaves gently rustle in the wind, creating a soft, natural sound. The trees are bathed in warm, golden sunlight, casting long, soft shadows. Meandering pathways that wind through the grove, inviting exploration. These paths could be lined with wildflowers or small Mediterranean plants like lavender and rosemary, filling the air with a fragrant scene.
